Yale vs Harvard, world war 3?
looooooooooollll

I sadly accepted Harvard over Berkeley. Quickly learned the error of my ways. Spring break drove up to the Bishop’s City and pleaded my case. With AP scores they let me in after a year at Harvard as a junior. GO BEARS. And I am a legacy, and my sister was at Harvard at the same time. She liked it but she had a creepy boyfriend who was like a barnacle, never could get rid of him (they got married). One person’s heaven is another person’s hell.

For the record D is loving life in Cambridge enjoying her new friends in the class of 2015
Interestingly she has become friends with folks that she met at the USC scholarship weekend that also made the sane choice
As for $ all I can say is you can’t take it w u!

Patskid- don’t quite understand your post. Your daughter’s friends chose Harvard over USC because they got better financial aid from Harvard? That’s a no-brainer. The University of Second Choice is private and expensive. They do offer good financial aid to some, though. As for me, financial factors played no part of my decision. I thought about transferring to Oxford or Cambridge ( more expensive than Harvard). I was very lucky to not have to worry about college tuition. Chose Berkeley because it’s awesome!

A lottttttt of people I know at Yale (myself included) turned down Harvard. Harvard certainly doesn’t have a monopoly…
