Why are 2 schools asking for my son`s mid-year grades?

<p>momofthreeboys-at our school it’s grades after 2nd trimester–which cuts it pretty close but not much we can do about that :D.</p>

<p>The state schools we applied to didn’t use these, but common app schools did. The guidance counselors/schools know what to send and did it without asking - I’m guessing they were prompted by Common App. We did follow up to be sure it was done however.</p>
