<p>Notre Dame can generate twice as much hate as Duke and Columbia combined. Tell me that most Protestant and Jewish people don’t dislike ND. Even many Catholic fans of Michigan, USC, Northwestern, Navy, Army, Michigan State, Purdue, Georgetown, Miami, and Boston College find Notre Dame’s sense of entitlement repugnant. But ND has so much going for it (gorgeous campus, great academics, unparalleled sports tradition and alumni loyalty) that it’s only a matter of time that it overtakes SEVERAL Ivies. When it does, the whole landscape of American higher education will change. Once the Ivy mystique is shattered by a bunch of beer-swilling papists, it will be tough to put the toothpaste back in the tube. Remember, about 95% of the Hispanic and Slavic illegal immigrants are Catholic.</p>

<p>Saiyans, the “Duke” hate goes way back (before you even became a member). Blame your fellow classmates (e.g., ring<em>of</em>fire, lesdiablesbleus) for claiming their school is superior to Michigan and other public universities. In every thread, they would say Duke is in the same league with HYPSM and criticize public universities simultaneously. The Duke affiliates were so rude and arrogant that some members (e.g. rjkofnovi) simply got tired of the undeserved and misleading nonsense.</p>

Not once in my year in a half of reading CC have I seen a Michigan student bash an MSU or OSU student for the supposed ‘academic inferiority’ that you’re talking about. But then again, you spend more time here than anyone else WAITING for the moment where you can make a worthless smart-ass remark to incite a heated discussion, so maybe you could point me in the direction of these threads?</p>
<p>The only Michigan-OSU or Michigan-MSU bashing I see here is in the context of sports, namely football, but it’s in good fun and plus, Michigan doesn’t really have anything to say to either schools that can be taken seriously (see previous two football seasons).</p>
