Because your goal after college is to get a job. Without experience it would actually make it harder for you to find a good job in your major. I think your parents spoiled you and this is their way of correcting it. If you own a cellphone who is paying your bill, or a car, books tuition. All of those things are expensive and your parents can’t keep paying for you for the rest of their life. No person would want to marry you or stay with you for long if you don’t know how to take care of yourself.
You kinda sound like a friend of mine but rich. My friend currently lives with his mom. He is unemployed and and didn’t go to college once he graduated high school, he also goes to parties. He sits around playing video games, and going to the card shop. He has never had a legit job ever or a decent relationship. And this is because he doesn’t know how to take care of himself or others. Both physically and mentally.all of our friends have left my small town and scattered across the my state. It won’t be long before I do too. My friend of is so use to getting hand outs and never paying a single bill like you that he doesn’t even understand how good he has it. But when everyone’s getting there houses and life on track you and my friend will realize how bad you messed up.
You need to work not just for the money but for the since of pride that comes with it. The feeling of knowing that the money you’re spending you worked for it, I kid you not but at some point in life you will feel useless or ashamed because you can’t do anything for yourself and you’re going to have to rely on others.

Your parents probably wants you to learn to earn a little extra. It won’t mean that you’re making a big mistake if you don’t do so. They simply want you to realize its means on your own which is probably why they don’t give you an answer.
