Why do i have a low act score?

I have taken around 6 act practice since march most of the time i have gotten an 18. my highest is a 21 and i just took one in my school and i got a 17. literally everyone got higher scores some even got 30s. my reading score was a 14 on this one while my normal reading score is a 24-27.i dont get it? i will be working much much harder and i NEED a 30 desperately. What do most people do to get consistent 30s??? i have a friend who basically aces everything and she gets a 30 like its nothing and she reads ALOT. What do you guys think i should do to get a 30? i need desperate help. i go to an inner city charter school so maybe that sets my score off. idk =(( . do u guys just get a 30 first time?

“i dont get it?”

if ur missing that many questions to get 18, then go over all your missed questions and you will find out what areas u need to work on.
some people get 30s first time
some dont.
if u want to get 30s, you have to study and prepare

I am thinking maybe it is more of a time problem, do you find yourself spending too much time precisely bubbling in your answers or reading the passages, so that you are rushing at the end? Maybe that’s something you can work on.

Math: If you don’t know it substitute the answers into the equation.
Reading: I got a 35 in the reading section, I attribute this to my love of reading. If you don’t like to read, well…
Science: I got a 26 here:(. The main suggestion I’ve gotten from people with 30’s is this: Don’t read the passages. Find all your answers based on the graphs.
ELA: What sounds right?
Never leave anything blank!

Take SAT instead

Keep working on practice ACTs and practice SATs. If you can’t get it higher, then maybe look at some colleges that don’t require standardized testing. There are some very competitive schools out there that don’t require either.

Personally, I would lower your final goal a bit to make it more reasonable. Now, I’m not saying that reaching a 30 from 21 is impossible – it’s certainly not – but you need to take baby steps. Your first goal should be reaching a 24, then a 27, then a 30. That way, it will be easier to improve, step by step. Just like @4kidsdad said, you might be much better with the SAT. I suggest that you try every test and strategy

i will try the SAT and my first goal is 24
