Why do internationals get amazing aid when the endowment is relatively small?

10 Colleges That Give the Most International Student Financial Aid - US News and World Report

Okay, its ranked the 43rd LAC. The median SAT score is 1850 and the endowment is relatively small (about 280 million)

Why do internationals get such amazing aid? I mean, the rest on the list make sense coz they're the world's best universities and their endowments are practically infinity. but why skidmore? i <3 it but its fishy

The internationals applying may have been the ones most able to give the college what it needs and wants. With internationals, it’s tricky to accept them and not offer them what they need, because they then can’t come. They have to apply for a student visa and in order to get one, they have to show to the penny that they can pay for their stay here, with verification of how they are going to pay for it. Othewise they can’t come into the country. They also usually do not have access to the loans or to work that US students have.

I don’t think that they internationals there get such amazing aid. Skidmore gives good aid to ALL of their students. I don’t think they are need blind in admissions, but they do tend to meet need for all they accept. The kids I know who are on Fin Aid and went to Skidmore got good aid packages, one of the better offers, I remember. They are not internationals either.
