This kind of thread has probably been made countless times before. I'm trying to choose between Harvard and Yale, but I haven't heard very many positive things about Harvard. I'm trying to get the other perspective now. So... what about Harvard appeals to you, and why do YOU prefer it over Yale?

I guess I could just read some of the comments on Harvard vs. LAC thread cause it has some positive opinions on Harvard. But any more?

frankly, the name. i decided at the beginning of the admissions process that I would be happy at every university i applied to - i visited them all, found kids that i felt had the same dreams/goals/aspirations as me, had really cool convos with random kids i met who essentially "took me under their wings" for a day - the whole 9 yards. my local state school (university of Washington) is awesome too, ive been partying there lately and the kids int he frats that want me to rush are very down to earth and cool - and their finance program isnt too shabby either. I applied to "name" schools that i visited and enjoyed - princeton, harvard, penn, yale, stanford, and northwestern. Ive made all but princeton (they havent told me yet), and frankly, i liked every one of them - but harvard's got the name, and i spent 2 nights on campus which i thoroughly enjoyed. I'm about 95% sure im goign to cambridge in the fall.

The breadth of educational, world-renowned faculty, leading institutes/departments, and diverse, talented student body at Harvard is interesting and exciting for me. Harvard has an environment featuring the leading academic and clinical institutions in the world and additionally gives students the opportunity to study under a faculty consisting of 40 Nobel laureates. The Harvard community furthermore generates more publications, grants, and exposure than many other top educational institutions combined, particularly important for the scientific/clinical research that I would have liked to do to augment my academics.

Of course, it does not matter now, for me at least.
