Why do YOU want to attend a prestigious college?

Yes, I was talking about beginner jobs ofcourse. Generally in terms of employment with universities, the most prestigious schools are the ones who send more students into employment. Also, a major factor in my decision was the PAY. Prestigious universities send more students to employment with higher pay. This is an almost undeniable fact.

This is why it is extremely hard to be a law student and get into a good firm if you are not in the top 20 or so law schools (generally). You can be from a non-reputable law school, but getting accepted to a good firm is tough and only YEARS of experience and publicity will save you from that.

Wow, so they actually have them in the dorms? Huh, sounds nice.

Extremely. Quality of life is just as important as quality of academics.

After the first ten comments, this thread went downhill…

Didn’t exactly start well either…

Well, numbers 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10 were all rather silly. Though that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

“Generally in terms of employment with universities, the most prestigious schools are the ones who send more students into employment.”

Wouldn’t prestigious schools be more likely to send students to graduate schools and less prestigious schools be more likely to send students to employment instead of graduate schools?

Prestige = Opportunities. It does nothing to help the individual who slips through the admissions door with no ambition or drive but it makes doing what you want a whole lot easier.

Wouldn’t you rather have a pretty girlfriend than an ugly girlfriend?.

Seriously, going to a “name” college is a label that you carry with you the rest of your life.

Of course, that is not the ONLY reason in selecting a school.
