<p>So if you tell people you went to Harvard you are guilty of rubbing it in their faces, and if you don’t tell them then you are guilty of “the vilest smugness.” No matter which course of action they choose you are going to conclude they are terrible people. Wow, talk about a no-win situation.</p>
<p>If a student is on top of his class and always challenge himself why not apply to Harvard?
You will get more challenges and be with others of the same quality and therefore get an elite education with a Harvard degree. As a first immigrant parent I didn’t know if Harvard is affordable for a middle class family but you want the best for your son and therefore you compare with other schools getting more information and visiting them. You motivate your and Harvard has a lot to offer if you qualify. This is simple reasoning.</p>
