Why does the SAT ask if I'm a Permanent Resident of the USA?

So I’m taking my SAT tomorrow, and there’s a question in the beginning that asks if I’m a citizen or a Permanent Resident. I marked no to that, in the previous SAT I took. But I’ll be applying for a green card in a very few days. So what do I do? What is even the purpose of the question?

Demographics, I suppose. They collect this information to sell to colleges, who will use it for marketing and to get a peek of the makeup of potential students in the pipeline. I believe those questions are optional. No one is going to call you out for being a non-citizen at one exam and a permanent resident the next time you take it.
