Why doesn't any talk about the English Department? Isn't it #1 in the country?

Everyone talks about how difficult the science classes are, but how tough is English?

and btw, English isn't a "worthless" major for those planning to attend Law school...

(**I meant to say "anyone" in the title. sorry for the typo!)

English is not super tough unless you take the hardest classes, I think according to those I know in the major.

The reason nobody talks about it is - MANY of Berkeley’s departments are close to tops in the field, but people don’t make a big deal about this in undergrad, so much as for grad school, because most people are too busy figuring out what they want to do to really be able to understand how and why the dept came to be tops in the field. The difficulty associated to the no. 1 ranking for English is probably better known by PhD students.

Whereas science and engineering undergrad are made tough as a rule, even in undergrad.

English is a boring major filled with many arrogant individuals. I could not stand it. And in terms of real world knowledge, it is pretty worthless.

^“So let it be written. So let it be done.”

Just get an awesome GPA, and you will get into grad school.

Oy, and I want to get into English :X
