Why doesn't top colleges use the SAT

damn =...

elliott34, you probably have a 4.2 b/c your hs has grade inflation. you will probably deny it, but who wants to admit the truth if it'll make themselves look bad. although you wrote your comments in sarcasm, i think it is actually pretty true.

Every one of my classes is simply based on an average of your all your grades there are no curves or adjustments at all.....what could you POSSIBLY be referring to. My GPA is based on the fact that A in and honors class is a 4.5 and an A- is a 4.1 etc....the average of them produces that. Where is this "grade inflation" because I would love to see where I can get some more of it.

and my sat scores arn't that bad, but they arn't spectacular. I would even argue this if I had a perfect score. But Where does someone possibly conceive that a student in the top 10% of his or her class is not "meant" for college or won't be able to succeed. Is college not more of the same of high school? Classes with grades? Not standardized tests.

Well the HS GPA that your HS calculates is meaningless, as most colleges recalculate it into a form they can easily read and compare. If im correct its just your grades averaged together than divided by 25 to make a GPA. (3.5 = B+, 3.6 A-, 3.7-.8 A, 3.9-4.0 A+, etc.)
