Congrats LuoSciOly! Enjoy MIT - I’m sure you will enjoy it!

I read in a forum debate on CC that Harvard creates companies, whereas MIT works for those companies. lol

^^slushy9. Sorry to inform you that past 20 years or so the metrics clearly indicate Stanford creates more significant companies than either MIT or Harvard…and if I am not mistaken MIT in recent years has created more companies than Harvard (probably with the exception of Facebook). Why Stanford creates so many more companies can be explained by the strengths of the school. It is tops in both humanities/social sciences departments and tops in computer science/engineering. Its interdisciplinary philosophy allows distillation of great ideas that come to fruition that much more quickly into the real world. The best way to describe why Stanford has an advantage in this regard is that it is the best combination of Harvard and MIT put together.

^^ohmmho, sorry to inform you but your evident bitterness against Harvard undermines your silly and inferior argument…

^^Wow. The angry response that you have seems to indicate you may have picked the wrong school?? I hope not. I wish you luck in your government studies…

Woah. Easy guys! I do find it a bit odd that somehow ohmmho brought in Stanford to the discussion, but his son has recently chosen Stanford; so he is understandably biased.

I’m sure his son made the right choice for himself. I’m personally choosing Harvard over both Stanford and MIT, but I definitely see why someone would do otherwise. There’s no need to be rude or to start spreading misleading information.

@LuoSciOly: Congratulations on your decision! and see you on the other side of Cambridge :)
