Hi, I was just trying to see which would be the better university in my situation. I want to major in either biology or chemistry, or possibly premed. I also want access to top notch research opportunities. I'm currently wavering between whether i want to apply ea next year to either harvard or yale. I know Harvard is a lot better than Yale in the sciences, but I also like Yale for its community spirit, its residential college system, and overall undergraduate focus. By going to Yale, would I at all be compromising a top notch science education that I would otherwise be receiving at Harvard? Thanks.

Yale's science program is very strong, too. There's a thread somewhere (a little back, I think) about it, but here are two points:
1. Yale is putting something like $1 billion into Science Hill.
2. There are a number of special programs for undergraduate science majors at Yale, one of which (Perspectives on Science) allows you to conduct paid research over the summer after your freshman year.

social pariah? u belong at MIT! haha jk.

Both have great departments... although Yale is currently developing its science department while Harvard has an already developed department.

Have you already visited both schools?
