Why is average SAT score low?

I notice that average SAT score of Davidson college is much lower that other top LACs

According to About.com,

Davidson: 1880~2160 (25%~75%)
Haverford: 1980~2280
Claremont:1970~2250

All of them are on the same rank (9).

Is it because Davidson College recruits lot of athletes? Davidson College is one of few LACs that are in Division I.
Or is it because students do not prefer Davidson because of its grade deflation?

Does anybody have an idea?

Heres more up-to-date information:http://www.davidson.edu/admission-and-financial-aid/class-of-2017-profile</a>
1900-2190 (25%-75%)
And this is because when applying to Davidson your SAT score is the least important part of your application. A Davidson admissions rep told me that it was ranked 5 on the list of 5 things they consider. So while important, it is not as important as other things on your application, such as your GPA and essays.
