Why is Sarah Lawrence so prevalent in pop culture?

10 things I hate about you, The Notebook, Gossip Girl, Entourage, Jeopardy etc... For a liberal arts college that isn't so highly ranked, it seems to have a lot of prestige/reputation in pop culture...?

For starters, JJ Abrams, Jane Seymour, Lauren Holly, Holly Robinson, Robin Givens, Sam Robards, Yoko, Carly SImon, Brian DePalma, Juliana Margulies, Cary Elweis, Jordan Peele, Tea Leoni and a couple dozen other Hollywood types went there. It also has a bit of an exaggerated reputation as a home for artsy, eccentric kids (especially girls), so it’s an easy way to show that a character is creative.
