Hi! I have a question about medical experience, if anybody knows…
At my local hospital there is a volunteering program but no extensive shadowing program for high school students. I do volunteer at a hospital (600 hrs) but my job does not involve patients. So I really have no real “medical” experience. How does this affect my chances for combined medical programs?

I’m applying to BS/MDs at:
BU
Case Western
UConn
RPI (Rensselaer)
Siena College
Union College
Rochester University
WashU
Caltech (my dream!)
Rice
University of Kentucky

indian female :)

So does anybody know which is more important for BS/MDs: academics or extracurriculars? Do non-medical/ non-science ECs matter at all?

ACT: 32, 34 superscored

I honestly have no idea, my research mentor mentioned something about him submitting my work or something to Siemens. could be a different competition…

oh, lol, yea, i think he told you wrong. Siemens was due oct 1st and its something a high schooler writes, not a mentor. yea it probably was adiff competition

UK is a great program for those of you applying. The interviews are fun too! One of them is a group interview in front of a panel of judges! Good luck to you guys!
