For a major like CJ, all the CSUs (except SLO) use the same index to rank applicants. It is a simple, weighted combination of your test scores and grades. LB (and some other campuses) use a different formula (that more heavily weights Math test scores) for science and technology majors.

You can calculate yours by following the directions here.

Note, they use a sub-set of your grades (10-11, only college prep classes, and ignore +/-) and cap you at 8 semester AP bonus pts. This can significantly change the result. Sometimes for better, others for worse.

As an in-state, non local applicant, you’ll need an SAT index of 3800 or ACT 910 to comfortably gain admission.

So, if 3.4 is your CSU GPA and you’ve got an M+R SAT of 1080 or an ACT of 23, you should be all set.

Okay so I submitted my CSULB app. On November 25th and I haven’t received an email so I can make my portal thing. What should I do? I hope I get into LB I have a GPA 3.2, non local and SAT 1260 act 17 & 18. I’m taking my SAT again on Saturday.
