Why is the link to "Pre-Med Topics" broken?

Is it just me who can not access the "Pre-Med Topics"? I do not know whether I will be able to start this thread on "Pre-Med Topics" so I try to post this thread on "Pre-Med & Medical School" and hopefully some CC site administrator would notice and take care of this.

It’s not just you. I hope this gets fixed, that is the main reason I come to this site now.

It is not you mcat, I just get “page not found” as well.

It would be a real shame if all of that useful information is lost…years of accumulated knowledge/experience.

I’m hoping it’s just a glitch of the new update. But still …. ?!

I have reported the issue and got a response back from the tech team stating they are working on it. I doubt we will lose the information but we may need to wait a bit longer.

also doesn’t work on the phone. This new layout might get me to break my addiction here - God is it awful.

The link has been changed but still not fixed. When I click the Pre-Med Topics, it stays on the same page rather than goes inside the Pre-Med Topics.

Also, on any CC page, there seems to be no way for me to get to the last page of a thread IF I use my iPhone (I can get to the last page of a thread if I use a real computer. ) I also miss the “normal view” while using the iPhone. It is easier to browse to other CC page in the normal view.

Hopefully, all these problems could be fixed in the future.

The link “works” but only three or so threads (including this one) show up. A whole lot of info not available….

^ No, it is still the pre-med header page and not the pre-med topic page that works. These three threads are off the larger link, not the pre-med topics link. It is still not working.

Mcat, if you want to get to the last page of a huge thread on your phone without going page by page, just post a comment, refresh the page and you will be at the end of the thread?

@-) What a mess. :open_mouth: :-q >:P

Now it would be helpful if I can figure out how to edit on my phone so I can replace that last question mark with a period. Ugh.

very very bad layout.

Seems that the ONLY pre-med threads available are new ones that started yesterday. Where, oh where, are the other threads? Somewhere in cyber space. So glad this forum was updated / sarcasm.

GAmom, This is how I edit my previous post on my iPhone.

There is a “gear-like” icon near the upper-right corner of your post. You could click on that “gear” and then click the Edit button that is newly shown up toward the bottom. You can then edit it in the edit window.

For example, I now change the ? In my first paragraph to a period. Then, click “Save Comment” orange button.

You can only edit your post within 60 minutes of your original post.

It seems CC has fixed SOME (but not all) of the page display issues (i.e., to display the first page instead of the last page of a very long thread) when you click on a thread. It sometimes displays the first page but sometimes the very last page. Also, it sometimes displays the page numbers you can click on. (All these problems were noticed on the iPhone only, not on a real computer. but who uses the bulky computer these days?!)

I could not figure out how I could trigger it so that it would display the clickable page numbers.

I am so concerned that the pre-med topics list link still does not work. And I have only been really interested in that for the past few months (since a thread I started about Match in the Parent Cafe last year got moved over to pre-med). I cannot imagine how upsetting this must be for those who are currently in the process of applying to med school, etc. PLEASE fix this!!

I doubt the old info is all lost. I think when an update is made, a “version” of the old is kept in case of update issues.

I suspect many will gravitate over to sdn if this continues, especially the newcomers. They also went through a substantial revise recently, but I don’t think they lost threads.

Have no fear, no information has been lost. As you can imagine, a software upgrade of this magnitude will have a few minor hiccups. The great news is, we have an amazing team of developers who are as passionate about this site as you are and are working tirelessly to fix any issues as quickly as they possibly can, including pulling a nearly a 20 hour work day over their weekend. Thanks for your continued patience while we address these issues.
