<p>Penn does not have a core curriculum. The only schools I know of who still do are Columbia and Chicago. Penn, like most other schools, have their "distribution requirements." The core curriculum is a series of specific courses required by all students to graduate. There are no choices like that in a distribution requirement system. In a dr system, there might be a science requirement but you can fulfill it with hard core physics or with philosophy of science. In the core, all students graduate having not only taken the same required courses but all have read the same books as well.</p>
