Interesting, OP, that this Princeton student thinks he can generalize about the entire Rutgers faculty, student body, and overall educational experience based on a single course that he is taking over the summer.

Princeton is an excellent school (I used to teach there) which gives its very bright undergraduates a fantastic education. The institution is constantly telling students how wonderful, unique, and brilliant they are, and how unparalleled Princeton is. That’s not exactly wrong, but the rhetoric is way overinflated. I attended and have taught at other elite schools as well, and self-esteem is rarely a problem, shall we say, but Princeton really takes the cake in this respect.

Rutgers is also a major research institution with great opportunities for students who know where to look for them, and plenty of bright people attending and teaching there.
