Does anyone have the rate of applicants matched with Columbia every year?
Anyway, I'm guessing the rate is low. Yet, if you apply ED to Columbia, the rate has been hovering around 20%, very high. They'll give you free tuition as well if you're low income, and I believe they must have some kind of quota on QB. So why would you guys apply to QB? What are the advantages?

belly, you are looking at only 1 of 28 partner schools. QB opens the door to many colleges that students would never consider apply to. As a finalist, you get to apply to those colleges for free. That alone can save a few hundred dollars. My sophomore son was an unmatched finalist and was accepted to Rice, a school we never would have considered without the QB exposure.

I also think that going through the QB process better prepares you for the college application process. My son also received some great acceptances from non QB schools. I attribute some of that to being so prepared when it came time to apply. He had essays to draw upon as well as having most other paperwork quickly assembled.

He started out with QB because his #1 choice was a partner school. While it wasn’t Columbia, it was a comparable school. QB really opened our Midwestern minds to what else is out there.

I highly recommend (and will continue) applying to Questbridge. It was a great experience and a happy ending for my son.
