I have not yet received my financial aid package. Should I be worried? Any one else not get it yet?

When did you submit your FA application? I usually submitted my application within 1 month of getting the forms and I didn't my award until mid-July.

I haven't gotten it yet either.

From Financial Aid Website:

"Please read the following urgent announcement from the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment and the Office of the Bursar:
For the 2008-09 academic year, many enrolled students may not see estimated aid on their fall bursar statement at this time. The Financial Aid office is working diligently to complete all reviews and will post aid as soon as possible. Once your financial aid is posted, it will be made available for viewing on the Student Services Center. Inquiries about the status of your financial aid can be e-mailed to finaid@cornell.edu. "

Yes, it's certainly annoying and I haven't received mine yet either, but I guess we just have to hang tight for a little while longer.

I'm sorry to hear that guys...seems like the situation for continuing students gets worse every year.

yes it does dewdrop87...i hope the student assembly can raise up this issue...if cornell cant afford the loan-free program then it should cut it out...or should get the other ivies to subsidize it :-d

Well...I was mostly referring to the length of time it takes the FA office to get award letters to continuing students. At this rate...some students will have 3 weeks to get loans (if necessary) in order and any credit issues could delay arrival of funds and payment of tuition.

In all fairness to the Financial Aid Office, it is by far the most overworked and understaffed office at Cornell. Additionally, the Bursar, in conjunction with the Financial Aid Office, has agreed to waive any finance charges that may arise due to the delayed financial aid award notices.

As someone who was affected by a late FA package last year...I am fully aware of this policy. But...Cornell needs to help the FA office do some restructuring so continuing students aren't getting their aid packages in August.

However...I had many loopholes to jump through to get my FA package in order last year and 3 weeks was not enough time. I know I'm not the only student who faces those and other similar issues.

they should divide the financial aid by both region and class year...

I have not received mine either.

No notification for me either. Killing. me. slowly.

yea as always. incompetent and inefficient... totally unacceptable to have to wait til August. other unis have already finished giving out aid. if its staffing/ management problems, then i agree with dewdrop that Cornell needs to get fixing.

Let's phrase the question this way- who has gotten their financial packages?

not meeeeeeeee

Yes, not having aid is quite annoying...

I was accepted ED this year and until today i still havent received my finalized financial aid, when it should have changed drastically according to Cornell's new aid policies...

what am i going to do... i already have a bill on jtf.... anyone else in a similar situation?

i was regular decision but i'm in a similar situation. i have not received an updated fin aid amount, but i know that my current fin aid amount is wrong b/c i have a loan when i should not have one (according to cornell's new policies). i sent in all my papers to cornell mid-April, so I don't know what's taking them so long.

and i already paid my bill, and i'm guessing that i should receive a refund check eventually...
