Why the Exeter Bashing?

I just put it all [art/music/drama courses] in the Junior year for convenience.

Oh I see...Well yes, you could do that. It's extremely unusual though, I've never met anyone who took a full year of art electives.

Is it actually possible to take all required courses as well as 4 years of two foreign languages?

No, unfortunately it's not feasible to take 4 years of two foreign languages.

Do you have to, for example, give up a year of optional science beyond the 2 years required if you want to take an additional year of history?

[/quote]

Yes...You would either not take Chem or Physics

Although the truth is that while you are given options such as not taking one of the three sciences, or stopping math potentially after two years (if you're at a high enough level by then), these choices are discouraged...Your adviser might tell you this, because colleges generally like to see students complete all three sciences and do math the entire duration.

You do have a choice for auditing a class though...Which would be taking the class but not getting a grade for it. It would take up your one free block (meaning you lose 50 minutes of free time each day to finish assignments or take a nap) I would not recommend it, because the day is work-filled enough without having another full class's homework.

Thank you very much -- very helpful. Can be a bit difficult sorting through the course catalogue at times.

Side note: my son absolutely loves everthing about Exeter -- just trying to figure out how everything works. Thanks again.
