Why To Vote Yes On Proposal Two

<a href="http://www.stanfordalumni.org/news/magazine/1996/sepoct/articles/against.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.stanfordalumni.org/news/magazine/1996/sepoct/articles/against.html</a></p>

AMAZING article, so true

??

This article illustrates some concerns about affirmative action as it relates to the admission of black students to selective colleges.

That is but one issue at stake.

These are issues that one might consider when weighing Proposal Two, and they might indeed sway some in their decision-making. However, I don't see how such a limited discussion of the issue can possibly be the definitive statement on why voters should alter the Michigan constitution.

It is my hope that voters will think about all the issues, and (whatever they decide), vote on this proposal based on more than just an opinion about black kids getting in to Stanford.

affirmative action is not the only issue at stake with proposal 2.

i am in a group called which annualy gives out $20,000 to community groups benefitting young women. this group will be extremely disadvantaged (if not shut down) if proposal 2 passes. in fact, groups/organizations giving "preference" to ANY group of people (including men, women, black, white, rich, poor, etc. etc.) would be at risk under prop. 2.

just something to think about.
