Why WashU has lost a lot of my respect

<p>I'm not saying you or your friend are liars, but there is obviously some misconception about what the letter said (either on our part or your part). WashU's merit scholarships are only gained by filling out applications (or being nominated) and going through an interview process during finalist weekend. WashU does offer merit/need scholarships, but that is only determined once you're accepted. What I think you're referring to is the fact that WashU matches the 2500(not 25,000) a year from NMF. I repeat, this is not something that will amount to over 100,000 for four years, but its 10,000 over for years from NMF who put WashU as their first choice school and get accepted. I am pretty sure this is the type of letter your friend got. WashU is nice enough to match the 2500 scholarship for NMF people and extend it for four years</p>
