I was just browsing through the old Wellesley threads and came upon this one (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=138470 ) and thought "Hey, maybe we should do that too!" Btw, before i post my essay, are we allowed to? (just to make sure)

You are allowed to, but you should be aware that a lot of students may copy your essay (next year).

Yeah it's a whole "at your own risk" thing.
But mine is pretty bad, so I don't want to post mine :X

aww, that's true that pple might copy them :( aww, i wanted to have everybody share why they want to go but it's ok :) oh miss zanna, omg, i bet urs was amazing, ur being too humble :)

Well, you don't need to post the whole essay... you can just your own personal reasons for loving Wellesley. Those aren't secret.

becuz it's the best...lol, actually i really want to double major and Wellesley is strong in both of these majors

i'd be willing to post mine, haberdashery. i'm not too worried about plagiarism haha :)

I'm not as worried about plagiarism as I probably should be (I've already posted my Common App essay), but I'm honestly embarrassed by how awful all my "Why _____?" essays were. At the end of the process I was so exhausted that I really didn't put in as much effort as I should have. :o

^^^agreed. i'm a little embarassed to post my essay, get lots of sympathetic "oh it's so good" responses, and know that deep down everyone else is thinking "dear god..."

i was so sick of the whole process that by the time i got to the "Why ___" for every school, i put in about 5% effort, 95% copy-and-paste of my "academic interests".

My essay was so cliched, it wasn't even funny.

lol, i'm kind of worried about how it'll be judged too :)

i seriously doubt it omz
mine was short but i liked it because i hate things that are long and wordy

mine was 2 paragraphs, well the 1st paragraph was 3 sentences i think so i hope that they don't mind

yeah mine wasn't that short...but it was like probably 250 words..maybe 233..or maybe in the one hundreds...

plus: i think the shorter, the more emphatic. every word will carry its own weight and makes people see the deeper meaning.

mine was two paragraphs also. it had a rhythm to it..like the rest of my writing

Mine was three paragraphs and 248 words. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who didn't write that much!

i wouldn't worry about ..you're supposed to adhere to two paragraphs...i mean come on...each paragraph should have eight sentences maybe??? (give and take)..it's meant to be a short answer...or at least i believe it to be...

so now getting to the point of this nerve wracking thread...

am i the only one who actually wants to put their short answer for display???(more along the lines of criticism..but as writers we should be used to this..?)

by the way..in my message before this one and the one before there should be an "It" after "about"...sorry..didn't mean for the sudden and rude interjection

Why did I even apply lol
