Wikipedia lecture

D texted me last night saying she was at the lecture and it was “awesome!” She thought it was really cool that he was a UA grad.

Can I just say how happy it makes my heart that she can go to a great lecture on a Wednesday night and then be in the crowd for ESPN Game Day on Saturday morning? Talk about the best of both worlds :)

I couldn’t agree more, Robd! One minute D is enthusiastically telling me all about the great discussions in her book class - (only 8 students!) and the next she’s raving about the spin class she’s taking at the rec center. Add the excitement of football season, and UA has everything a well rounded student could possibly want. The best of both worlds, indeed!

Last night wikipedia lecture, tonight Kansas concert, Saturday football, I want to go to Bama too!!

hmm greg mcelroy is a rhodes scholar candidate? nice! also it seems that he’s doing much better on the field now than last season

They mentioned he was a Rhodes Scholar (but didn’t hear the candidate) during the game. They also said he hasn’t lost a game since the 8th grade.

When they talked about McElroy interviewing for the Rhodes Scholarship (which means a year at Oxford) they said that the University/Football program would “support his application.” I wonder if that means that if he is accepted, that they’ll support him taking a year away from the team?
