I’m in the second semester of my senior year right now and was just given a 5 day suspension for cheating. What happened was that I found a USB which had course material for one of my classes and instead of turning it in I kept it and put my files on it. I lost the USB and it was turned into administration where they found both my files and the teachers files. I’m wondering if the colleges that I have been accepted to will be notified about my suspension and what are the chances that my acceptances will be rescinded. Also is there anything I can do at this point to avoid this?
You can’t do anything now but in the future you should stop cheating.
Not a bright move on your part. Contact the school and ask.
Thanks for the responses guys, I realise it wasnt the smartest move on my part I just wanted to know if I could offer to take some kind of summer program or to go on disciplinary and/or academic probation instead of my acceptance being rescinded.
No way to tell. It will depend on how the college feels about that.
Also stealing.
Be honest in the future (it was cheating and stealing - “finding” something and not turning it in is stealing), and you’ll do okay. If the colleges don’t ask, they don’t ask.
The colleges will let you know if they need more information or rescind an acceptance, and if they rescind, you can appeal.
