I took Linear Algebra at UCLA this summer. I got a B.

Does this impact my chances at Caltech at all? I've been told that getting a B in a math course at UCLA as a high schooler is an achievement to be proud of, but I'm still worried. I've taken two other courses at CSU's and gotten A's, this is my first B in any course - so am I done for, or am I overreacting?

If you are rejected (which, regardless of how well you’ve done in HS, you must accept is the most likely outcome), it will likely not be because of this grade

Don’t fret it!! Caltech admissions folk like students who have maxed out their high-school offerings, and gone above and beyond to study math and science. Just pushing your limits and going to UCLA will help, and a B from a high-schooler in that context will NOT hurt you. I would definitely include it in your app with pride. Good Luck!

I may not put it as strongly as IBfootballer, but this one grade will not sink you. Even if you got an A in the class, it would not have made you. They will look at the entire package and give credit for having taken a college class. Is a A preferable to a B? Yes. Are you overreacting? Yes.
