Will a Research Paper boost my chances?

Some colleges allow you to submit a research paper for consideration with your application. Over the summer I did a 10 page paper on "einsteins field equations:wormholes". Will you guys take a look at it and tell me if itll increase my chances of acceptance? If so i'll just email it to you, or post it here...
Thanks guys.

It always helps, but unless the paper is evaluated by someone who is familiar with your topic, it may not be as useful as you think, however, it doesn't hurt to try.

you can pm it to me if you want.

Like a music or art supplement, research shows a facet of your talents.

Send colleges the abstract rather than the entire paper.

was it published?

Ok so I'm an IB Diploma Candidate and am writing my extended essay and my Advisor has her doctorate in Psychology

Is it worth submitting the essay (around 14 pages)? She gave it an A.

I would discourage sending in essays and research papers unless you've won an award for them. Admissions offices are so swamped that the papers will probably not be read and will just irritate the officers reading your application (they deal with enough paper already.)

ok. however caltech say on its website its okay, but this is the only one. perhaps ill attach it to the caltech one, but not the ivy apps. seriously with so many applicants, itll probably just **** them off.

wait...the word: p.i.s.s. is censored? weird.

What have you got to lose? I doubt they'd reject you out of spite. I sent in a hefty research/writing portfolio, and it helped me.

skyhawk, the same goes for the EE. I would submit only the abstract. 4000 words is a bit much to read. :)

true. when would a reasonably sized paper be against your favor? if the paper did not coincide with your planned major? (i dont think so, but some schools have mysterious adcom procedures)
