Will applying Huntsman ED but Wharton RD affect my application?

Hi all,

I’m an Australian student who is planning to apply to Penn’s Huntsman Program ED this year, but I’m considering only putting down Wharton for RD instead of ED. Since I know that Penn really cares about how much an applicant likes the school, will applying Huntsman ED and not Wharton ED as well indicate to admissions that I don’t really like the school? Penn is one of my favourite schools, but I’d just like to have a bit of flexibility in being able to visit and choose schools if I don’t get into Huntsman ED. Wharton is also a strong favourite anyway so I don’t mind putting it down ED as well if not doing so will affect my chances- thoughts?

Thanks!

Maybe repost in the Penn forum?

If you do not get into Huntsman, you are in the RD poll just like other RD applicants. .You will lose the ED advantage to Wharton. . It will not hurt your RD chance.

For Class 2020, The RD acceptance rate is around 6% for Penn, and maybe around 4% for Wharton.

@blu5959, Although RD acceptance rate is lower but most, if not all, applicants with legacy will be in the ED poll. I saw deferred M&Ts here in ED poll were accepted in RD Wharton in class 2020. You should be OK to apply Huntsman ED with Wharton RD.
