will being in IB improve your chances for undergrad admissions?

Somewhat. if you do poorly, no, but if you do well, certainly, and if you pass some of the tests, you can get many credits. If it's too hard for you, and it is for many students, then I would advise you do what's best for you and not. For others students, it's a great program, and a real challenge.

well, they will not know for sure how well you do. I want to apply next year and I wanted to know if it would give me an extra edge.

will they admit you because of it...like automatic or something like that?

They will know when they read your transcript and all the classes say "IB" and you have good grades next to them, right? :) It will give you an edge sort of like taking all AP classes would, probably a bit more, especially if you get the full diploma. How much, I don't know. No, they will not admit you automatically. Rochester has something like that. Check into it if you're interested.

thanks for your input. And yes I have good grades. I just wanted to scoop out some good business schools so I know where to apply to next year. I aslo wanted to join the marching band and the band director said he would write me a letter to the admissions team next year.

what's an IB?

International Bacaulareate Program/Diploma; it probably gives an edge to an applicant. The classes are thought to be the "most rigorous." I think it helped me.

It really improves your chances. I go to a pretty competitive IB school, and I counted 15 kids in my TOK class who got in.

Well, let's not confuse correlation and causation. But certainly, it helps.
