*WILL CHANCE BACK* Are these schools good choices for me?

I'm just looking to see which schools on this list are reaches, matches, and safeties for me.

Grades:

Slacked off freshman, sophomore, and junior years, I will admit it.

Fresh- 2.9 UW 3.4 W
Sophomore- 3.1 UW 3.6 W
Junior- 2.9 UW 3.5 W (Took AP US History and got a 71%, 3 on AP test. Slacked off in this class again.)
Senior Year- (Grades closed for first quarter, I've finally started paying attention to my academics)

So far in first quarter- 3.7 UW 4.0 W, Going to keep this performance going for the rest of the year

SAT- CR 620 M 620 W 600/ 1840

Schools I'm applying to:
Temple
Pitt
Umass Amherst
Drexel
Rutgers
U Vermont
U New Hampshire (Instate)
U Maine
U Maryland Baltimore County
SUNY Buffalo

ECs-
Destination Imagination (Drama) 1,2,3,4
-Global competition at U of Tennessee twice
Community Caregivers (Volunteer) 1,2,3,4
- Help elderly in my neighborhood weekly
Baseball 2,3,4
Football 1,2 (manager Freshman year due to injury)
Mock Trial- 4

Intended major is Biology

Should I apply to a less rigorous and desired major, like global studies, and then transfer into the biology program after Freshman year?
Is that possible?

Want to work hard in college and get an MD or PHD

What other schools could I add?

(I've sent transcripts to all schools, but want to eliminate the schools that are unrealistic before paying the application fee)

Rutgers SEBS: Reach
Temple: Match/High match
UPitt: Reach
UMass Amherst: High match
UNH: Match
UME: Low match/Match
UVT: Low match
UMBC: Low match
UB: High match
Drexel: High match

UVT is a match.

Temple, UNH, UME, UMBC, Drexel are matches.

However, many of these schools are out of state publics and your chosen major is not covered under tuition exchange, so have you run the NPC’s on each site? Public universities DO NOT cover financial need for out of state students, so you’d only get your $5,500 federal loan and would have to pay the rest.

If you’re interested in the SUNY’s, Oneonta or Cortland etc. may be a better choice than Buffalo (which I see as a reach with a 3.0 GPA).
If you want to go out of state, check out some private colleges.

You may want to look at Colleges that Change Lives:
[Colleges That Change Lives | Changing Lives. One Student at a Time.](http://www.ctcl.org/)

If your goal is med school, you would be better off choosing a school where you’re among the top 25%. A major other than biology would also help you (both for med school and if you don’t make it into med school - there’s a glut of bio majors and their job prospects really aren’t that good.)
