I mailed my app today to the Carnegie Mellon pre-college program, it's rolling admissions and the deadline is May first. I'm hoping to get into art and design. I'm a rising junior.

4.3 gpa weighted, I have all 'A's.

Frosh: Honors biology, honors english, honors us history I, honors algebra two, honors spanish III, band

Soph: Honors chemistry, honors english, AP european history, honors trig, band, doubled up on art so I can take AP art next year have taken many honors and one ap

1930 PSAT, won the art award and the science award as a frosh, honorable mention on scholastic art and writing awards

Your stats look okay, but I guess it’s hard to know for sure unless you know what you’re being compared against. Your PSAT scores might hurt you, especially if other applicants have higher scores, but what it will probably boil down to is who shows the biggest commitment to art. If your ECs show a strong passion, then you probably have a good shot. Good luck!

Thanks! A random question: How much does procrastination/waiting till near the deadline hurt you if its rolling admission? The deadline is May first, I mailed it today … Will there still be plenty of spots or have I cut it close?
