What are my chances in your opinion of getting into Michigan, Georgetown, UCLA, and Northwestern?

I have a 3.7 unweighted GPA at a private college prep school taking rigorous courses.

2160 SAT score (750 - math 710 - Reading 700 - writing)

I am a 4 year varsity lacrosse player and 2 year captain

Elected to Discipline Court 3 years in a row

National Honor Society member

Won the World Language Award as a Junior (going to be a senior in the fall)

Part of Spanish Club, SADD, and Ambassadors club

Have worked at Mcdonalds and currently have a summer internship with an energy trading company

National Merit Semifinalist

Play guitar in a local band and also have a large portfolio of my own artwork

Michigan- High match/Low reach
Georgetown- Low reach
UCLA- Match/High match
Northwestern- Low reach/Reach

Your GPA is the worst part of your app. Considering you have an SAT, I’m assuming you’re a junior and therefore have very little/no time to improve it before application time. Having a varsity sport helps though. Can you be recruited?

Michigan-High Match
Georgetown-Reach
UCLA-High Match
Northwestern-Reach

Overall, ECs are decent, test scores are within the middle 50 for most of the schools, but the GPA isn’t going to help you out too much. Best of luck in the coming year!

Chance back?

michigan- match
georgetown-low match/low reach
ucla- math
northwestern- reach

your SAT is fine, your GPA might be a little of an issue though. it’s not that big of a problem though as long as you have challenging classes. nice ec’s though!

chance back? please thanks! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1513395-chances-hyp.html

Michigan: match/high match
Georgetown: reach
UCLA: match/high match
Northwestern: reach

I would say your ECs are nice, as are your standardized test scores. Your GPA is helped by the fact that you attend a prep school and rigorous courses. I would say work hard on your essays, and UCLA and Michigan would make good matches. Best of luck!

Care to chance back?

Michigan: high match for LSA, low reach for CoE
Georgetown: reach
UCLA: high match
Northwestern: reach

Michigan: Definitely a high match (low reach)
Georgetown: pretty low reach (but they have a holistic approach so it really depends on your resume and personal statement)
UCLA: Match
Northwestern: somewhat of a reach

Chance me back, please!

I would say you can make it to Michigan and UCLA, but the others are a little stretch. I’m sure pretty much any other school will take you, though.

Chance me back, please!

My impression is that you would be a highish match, UCLA also a match. I’ll be honest with you and tell you I don’t know much about the rest (not what you want to hear, I know).

Chance me back if you have that oppurtunity :)
