Hello! I am a senior in high school and I am taking general chemistry I & II at a community college as a dual enrolled student. I have dreams of going to Columbia but as you may know, they do not accept transfer credits. I would like to know if I were to go to a state school (UNC Dental School) for dental school where the credits are transferable, would I have to take the general chemistry classes over again in college or can I transfer the Chemistry classes to the dental school? (This is assuming I place out of General Chemistry and place into organic chemistry)
I’ve looked on the dental school’s website and as long as the classes aren’t more than 5 years old, they can count for credit. But I’m not sure that if I transfer to an institution that doesn’t accept the credits then go on to a dental school that does accept the credits (which will be 5 years old at that point) that the dental school would still take the credits. I’m having a hard time explaining it but I hope you understand what I mean!
PS. There are other schools I’m interested in besides Columbia that I know do not accept these credits. Also, I wasn’t sure how to categorize this question haha
