Will dental schools care about what kind of undergrad school you go to?

Okay, so I'm not talking about a community college (there's nothing wrong with graduating from a com. college, I'm just saying), but just a regular university (not high ranking -like top 50 schools).

So I got accepted into a "no name" school for their Bachelor of science/pre-med program and I was wondering if dental schools care about it? The university I got into specializes in science/healthcare area.
Dental schools usually only look at your DAT score, GPA, and EC's right? The "brand name" of your undergrad school won't matter as much...correct?

I'm just wondering/concerned because this university I got accepted is relatively cheaper (28 thous. per year) and I think it's a good price. If I were to go to a "brand name" school, I'd be paying almost full price for it (50+ per year).
I'll also have to go to dental school so that's another (50-60+ per year). All that will accumulate to half a million? yikes.

So I just wanted to know if a "no name" school will affect my chances of getting into a decent Dental school, assuming everything else (DAT, gpa..etc) will be right on track.

Name of college will have an effect to some extent. A 3.7 applicant from Princeton will be at a better position than a a 3.7 applicant from UCSB. You can still go to a “no name” school but you will need to make yourself seen through high GPA/scores and heavy research/internships.

The lower the prestige the harder you will have to work to get accepted. If you are going to go to a no name school try to go to a public university to save money.

In general, the school you attend as an undergraduate does not matter much for dental school admission, especially if do well on the DAT. In fact, it may be advantageous to go to a lower ranked university, where you would have a better chance of getting a high GPA.

Hm, yea. That’s true. Thanks for all of your comments!
The school I was accepted to has a 74% acceptance rate to med. and dental school (Boston university med/dental, tufts med/dental, temple dental school, university of nevada las vegas…and others). I mean…that’s not too bad right?
