Will ED influence financial aid

Does ED influence financial aid from schools, also if my financial aid demands fund for tuition and room, will schools who meet 100% need pay for it.
I am applying to University of south, sewanee and am international

Sewanee will meet full need for domestic and international students starting with the class that arrives in Fall 2020. Since you’re asking about ED in the spring, I assume you’re a rising high school senior. ED won’t affect your financial aid — you’ll have full need met either way — but will likely improve your chances of admission. Sewanee admits over 80% of ED applicants but under 50% of RD applicants.

Even though some schools meet full need, the need is based on how they calculate it, not what the family thinks.

Most colleges are need aware for internationals, so if your EFC is very low, that can be a disadvantage in the admissions process. Of course, if you do apply ED and the FA offer is not enough, you are not bound to attend.

Though things like this tend to vary from school to school, it has been my opinion that overall ED does improve prospects in financial aid. These apps are the first of the admissions season, so coffers are flush and the slate is clean. These are sure thing applicants, and the AO wants these birds in hand. If Fin Aid is not what the acceptee expected+ the bird in hand can be a fly away.

Some schools that do not guarantee to meet need do so for ED. Most don’t have such a policy in writing, but there is great incentive to finalize the ED group of applicants.
