Will going from 6 courses in Sophomore year to 5 courses in Junior year hurt me?

I’m a high school sophomore, STEM major, and this year I’m taking 3 APs (Calc AB, CompSci, Apush), 2 Honors classes (English & Chem), and 1 Standard course (Latin III). I plan to take 5 APs next year: AP Calc BC, AP Lang & Comp, AP US Gov (fall semester) and AP Psychology (spring semester), AP Bio, and AP Enviro. My counselor said since I’m in 6 courses this year that I should take 6 next year as well.

Does the step from 3 APs, 2 Honors, and 1 Standard to 5 APs show enough rigor and development? I wouldn’t want this step down in number of courses to hurt me in college admissions, but I also don’t want to lower my GPA with a standard course or take an additional AP course, as I’ll have to study for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and 7 AP exams next year. Please advise. Any advice is greatly appreciated

5 academic courses junior year is what we were told to take. But you should have 4 years of a language.

What 7 AP exams are you studying for. I only see 6.

4 AP with 2 other academic classes would be excellent rigor.
Drop APES and take Latin 4 instead. Then add another company sci class?

@VickiSoCal Oops, I’m taking Physics at a community college this summer, so I’ll also be taking the AP Physics C Mechanics exam as well.

Why are you taking the AP test if you’re already getting college credit?
