I'm a girl/a sophomore in HS but I plan on getting a 3.7UWGPA cumulative GPA 9-11th, and a 4.0 senior year. I've taken all honors classes so far and will have taken 7AP course when I apply. I messed up last year with a 3.5 (depression b/c of bullying). I volunteer at a nursing home, soup kitchen, and I tutor. I work at a grocery store. I do track and am in literary magazine club, mock trial, and art club. I'm going to start/be captain of environmental club. I hope to get 2280 on the SAT's (at least). I've entered several essay competitions and think I'll win some before 11th grade. I want to major in English and minor in Political Sciences. I'm Abenaki Native American and I attend the #1 public school in my New England state. My Uncle majored in English at Cornell too. I will apply bound ED.

Well, it is pretty hard for you to estimate what your scores will be with much accuracy at this point, since you are only a 10th grader. However, IF you had a 4.0 sr year and a 3.75 cumulative GPA unweighted (I’m guessing that if you got 3.7 for grades 9-11, then a 4.0 in the sr yr classes would bring you up to about 3.75 or a bit higher)—and IF you had a 2280 SAT, then with your good EC’s I think you would have a fair chance but you would not be a shoo-in. However, your being Native American will be a HUGE pro for you in college admissions. I have read that most selective colleges are trying very hard to get minority students, and at this point they have more AA and Hispanic students by far than Native American students. The consider is a major coup to find a Native American student who is bright like you. It will help you immensely at Cornell and anywhere else you apply, so I think your chances of Cornell ED are quite high if you can do what you said that you are setting out to do! Good luck!

I have an amazing idea for you!!! While i agree that your GPA is a bit low, work on your ACT and SAT IIs and rock them!! and your essay is pretty much set! If you feel comfortable, talk about your bullying and how you overcame it and how it has made you stronger!! (Make sure to not turn it into an excuse for a 3…5) But overall Id say high math/low reach decent chance! Best of luck Also you are native indian which is in your favor :)

chance me?

Native American? I think you can get in ^no problem. Aim for a 2300+ and start essays EARLY. With an improved gpa I think you have a good shot at every school including harvard.
