I am hoping to be a civil engineer and I would really love to get into Buffalo.

I am currently a junior in high school.
I have an average of about 91
my sat score was 1760 (reading 550, math 590 and writing 620)
my GPA is around 3.5-3.7 i think
I am in National Honor Society
I have done multiple extracurricular activities (clubs, sports, volunteering...)
I am currently a girl scout and have been for about 8 years.
I haven't taken any AP classes but I have taken a lot of Honors classes. (I will be taking AP Psych next year)
My school doesn't rank.
I have taken 4 years of English, history and Math. 5 years of science. 3 years of Spanish.

Please help me I really want to go to Buffalo.

I also worked at a daycare in 9 th grade, at a summer camp last summer, and my local elementary school this year. I will hopefully be getting a job as a lifeguard this summer.

Got your message…you seem to be within the acceptable range for admissions, especially if the gpa listed is unweighted. My kid is a health sciences major, so I don’t know much about engineering (crazed would know more) but UB admits freshmen based on general admission policies so it should be the same standard for everyone. Here’s a link to that page:
[UB Undergraduate Admissions: Applying - Freshman Admission Criteria](http://admissions.buffalo.edu/apply/admissioncriteria.php)

I’d encourage you to retake your SATs, or perhaps take the ACT, to see if you can raise your scores. An 1140 (they don’t consider writing) would put you in the lower 50% for admissions (and well out of the running for merit aid), although UB does look at more than just test scores. Focusing on the math section can result in a significant bump. If possible, you should order the optional score report so you can see what types of questions you missed and practice those. There are some good SAT tips on this site (search for threads by xiggi). Most importantly, make sure you’re using the “blue book” for SAT prep (and the “red book” for ACT).

Tucker-
I don’t know too much about the scores to get in… but, I think your GPA is fine. Unsure about SAT’s.
As a female, I think that will help you out.

See if you can sign up for the first available ACT and take it. My kids found it much easier than the SAT’s. You just need to work quickly. Hints are to read the questions first and then read the passage or look at the information provided.
