My senior year second semester grades have been horrible, due to some family circumstances and the fact that we were much more focused on IB exams than our GPAs during this period.

I don't expect to live off those excuses, but I think I've ended up with only 2 As, 3Bs, and possibly 1 C.

Dan, does anyone’s admission offer actually get rescinded for sub-par (but passing) grades in their second semester senior year? It sounds like the sort of thing colleges say to discourage senioritis, but would never actually do.

Over the past few years, there have been others on this forum who have gotten letters from Tufts asking about their grades. So while I can’t imagine you’d be rescinded for a C, you might attract some attention. It may be a letter saying something to the effect of “We admitted you anticipating this level of achievement; now we are unsure that you will be able to perform at that level.”

I assume that you think this slump will not affect your college career, bit you may have to explain why you think that’s the case. It wouldn’t hurt to have that explanation ready to go.
