I already got admitted officially. but I am not sure if they decided that before they got my transcript. I went to very hard private high school. My final grade was B, B-,B-,C-,D-,F. And the school I will be going is a prestigious liberal art school. I was wondering at this point can they revoke me? I am an international student and they already sent me I-20 visa which shows that they are transferring me from high school to their college. So whats the chance of them sendming me letter that says U CANT JOIN OUR COLLEGE? Please answer me!!

With those grades...they will probably ask you to send in a statement asking why your grades slipped so much first...and then if your answer isnt satisfactory...then they might rescind...

Yes, start preparing a very good, watertight excuse. =)

finally, a thread that does not use the word "rescind"

Unless you have an extremely good reason for your low grades (and "extremely good" would mean something like your having a documented serious illness), it's likely that the college will rescind your admission.

Most colleges would have very serious concerns about any student whose senior year grades were so low. The fact that you're international -- and would have to handle college while also presumably learning about a new culture -- would make the colleges even more worried that you lack the organizational skills or motivation to be able to flourish freshman year.

Based on your previous posts, it seems you're planning to go to Davidson, which is a top 10 LAC. Hard for me to imagine that they would be welcoming you with those low senior grades.

Keep in mind that your college admission is contigent on :

Your successful completion of high school (are the d's and f's preventing you from getting your diploma this year?)

Keeping pretty much the same level of performance you had when you got admitted. IF you went from all A's or A/B+ and now it seems that you have had a major case of senioritis, and could (and maybe most likely result) in Davidson rescinding your admission.

If you were to get these grades once you were admitted in school, at minimum, the school would place you on academic probation. If you had any kind of merit money, you would surely lose it as a result of these grades.

Your best bet would be to contact them directly. It will show that you have taken ownership and are willing to take steps to rectify the situation (making the school more likely to work with you) vs. waiting for them to make the decision for you.

That's a 1.8 GPA. I would be shocked if they didn't at least contact you asking "why". You must have had at least double that to get into the school in the first place.
