I have taken AP Calc AB and so 1A Calculus will be a review.

I'm pretty good at art so art 8 shouldn't be so hard..

I am pretty good at Korean so Korean classses aren't going to eat up my time.

for your first semester, you should take 15-16 units, if that. taking 20+ is a surefire way to get you starting off with a bad GPA, a killer workload and little to no social life.

don’t be so quick to load up on classes and get your requirements out of the way.
i mean, i’m getting 2 requirements done a semester, but i’m also having fun with it :]

As others have said, way too much. As one person at my CalSO told me, this isn’t high school anymore. You don’t have to try to impress anyone with your huge course load. Also keep in mind that just because you took a course in HS doesn’t mean it will just be review at Cal. Cal is very famous for taking students who think they are experts in a subject and turning their attitudes upside down.

My best advice is to start out slow - no more than 15-16 units. In fact, the enrollment system won’t even let you add another class after 16 units, so the above schedule wouldn’t even be allowed.

left behind!?
taking 15 units a semester allows you to graduate in 4 years.
any more than that, and you’re just shortening your time at cal.

math at cal doesn’t even compare to AP
i mean, AP chem is one semester of intro to chem, but if you plan on taking any chem classes you have to retake it.
AP calc BC = math 1a and 1b, so i mean math at cal isn’t impossible…
but it sure isn’t easy.

I am highly against anyone taking the “honors” classes in their first year. If you take econ 2, you will likely beg the department to switch to econ 1

You also have 3 summer sessions in which to take classes to satisfy breath req. There is no need to complete all requirement in one semester.

One more thing. If you were to only do ONE major, which one do you want to keep? You should prioritize your majors.

Your schedule looks good to me. If you have the confidence, then go for it. I listened to my advisor’s advice and dropped Physics 7B in my first semester freshman year (with 15 units left), but now as a sophomore I am taking so many more (and harder) classes that I wish I had gotten 7B out of the way in my first semester.

But I do agree that in any case 22 units in your first semester is overkill. I suggest that you skip math 1A if you can AP out of it. There’s no reason to take it again if not taking it leaves you with a better schedule. And if you’re a math person, lower-div math classes at Cal will be easy for you. ;)

The reason why people jump off Evans is because it is the next tallest building behind Sather Tower, however it has bars (for obvious reasons) and so the next best thing is Evans which is just begging to be jumped off since there isn’t much stopping kids from doing so…maybe they should put bars as well. Just know its not because its math…its a combination of many classes.

I am surprised at all the comments about the schedule being too tough. Personally, I am considering going to take bio requirement, writing req., Math 54, and one more. Second semester, I am aiming at Physics 7B (maybe 7C), Econ 100A, Math 53 (?) and maybe one more.

Honestly, Math 1A, 1B is really just AP Calculus. I don’t see a reason in retaking the course. Physics 7A and 7B are just AP Physics C, I don’t see reasons retaking that. Econ 1 is equivalent to AP Macro and Micro…and I watched the podcasts for Econ 100B, 100A…doesn’t seem to be too hard. Math 54/53 may be a challenge, but personally…I will be studying the second time (hopefully better and clearer this time around)
