Will I do okay in a "mathie" business major????(like finance)?

<p>so i heard you have to do alot of math for finance/accounting majors.</p>

<p>i just finished my first semester of college and got an A- in business algebra? How well will i do in one of these majors?</p>

<p>At first i thought it was going to be a breeze. Which is was, i just got a B on my final which took my overall grade down to an A-. But i still feel stupid, since i figured algebra would be like elementary school math. but obviously not. Will i do well in this major?</p>

<p>I don’t know about finance, but accounting is not really a math-intensive major in my mind. You will need to do a lot of calculations but the focus is more on understanding what to do and why you’re doing it than the actual mechanics of the math. </p>

<p>If you can handle algebra and operate a basic four-function calculator, you can handle the math part but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you will like accounting.</p>
