I’m a HS senior but I’ve been taking college classes since freshman year because of my school’s early college program. I have a 3.7 HS GPA and a 3.5 college GPA (I took 9 college courses and have an A+ in 3 of them). My SAT score is pretty low… 1140 (600 MATH 540 ENG). I studied really hard but I just couldn’t meet the cutoff.
In addition, I had an internship at a hospital where I did in-patient care and also worked alongside my Eng Professor to present Writing Workshops to students in my grade and below. My guidance counselor is also making me her TA next semester since she really liked how I worked back then. Those workshops were twice a week for two semesters.
I’m taking 1 AP course bc my school only offers that (AP Bio). I joined a lot of EC’s throughout HS. I asked the teachers and professors I was closest with to write me a letter of recommendation. My intended major is Psychology and I also have a mental health column for my school’s newsletter (I’m also the managing editor for that).
What are my chances? How severe will my SAT affect my application?
