Will I get rescinded from Stony Brook University?

I am a senior that already got accepted into stony brook. I haven’t enrolled yet but I plan to later this week. I am pursuing computer engineering. I got an A and a B in the first 2 quarters of AP Calculus AB and am on track to get an F in the 3rd quarter. How high are my chances of getting rescinded? I understand calculus is a crucial class to my major but it is an AP course and I can easily pass with the final grade. I am wondering if they will simply consider the 3rd quarter grade and rescind me based on that.

If you can “easily pass” with the final grade, then why not pass the third quarter?

I can’t imagine that they’ll see the 3rd quarter grade until they have your final transcript. The question is whether your “final passing” grade will be reason for concern. And I think that depends on what that grade is.

In short, don’t give up on doing well in math.

In my SD, they don’t see your quarterly grades on the transcript, only the final grade and any Regents score. Obviously, since this is an AP math class, there’s no regents. I agree with @bjkmom, that you need to think about why you are getting an F now.

You have to change what you are doing… here are tips: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/2026961-what-to-do-when-you-arent-doing-well-in-a-hs-class-p1.html

I started to slack off once 3rd. Quarter came around because I knew colleges don’t really see the grades for 3rd and 4th but I thought I would steady get a C and I ended up failing. But if I work hard, I can get a decent final grade. I am just worried that they will just rescind over this one F

@vijayterian123 Not sure how your HS reports your final grades. Our HS only posts the final yearly average not the individual quarter grades. Check with your Guidance department. Work hard and bring it up 4th Qtr.
