Will I graduate on time?

Hi guys, so I will be a freshman this coming fall and I will be majoring in IT (just switched from CS).

When I made my schedule, I already had about 41 credits transferred from AP classes\university classes I took in high school. This made it tough to make a schedule, as most of my General Education and elective requirements have already been filled.

What I'm worried about is that I only have 4 credits that satisfy my BS in IT (about 52 credits), and non in my Computer Security minor.

Is this normal for a first semester student? Should I have more credits in my major? The only reason I don't have more is that I don't have much experience in computer language and most of the classes don't fit my schedule.

Why would it be difficult to graduate on time if you come in with AP and college credit? For any requirement that you have already fulfilled, you can take a free elective course of interest in its place.

I’m worried that because of how at my college CS\IT classes have so many pre-reqs to take I’ll be behind for only taking 4 credits in my major (only 1 credit towards actual computing)

Sit down and map out a tentative schedule. It’s a good idea, you can get an advisor to help or review it. My daughter’s college did this when you declared a major you make a contract where you map out your classes to graduation. It can be modified but you always have a working document that graduates you on time.
