Hey my name is Joe, and I’m scared! I’m a junior in highschool and, when I was in freshman year and sophomore year I didn’t do so great I just passed, I know I fucked up but now in my junior year I have straight A’s so far I was wondering if I am screwed my GPA is probally a 1.7 and If I get straight A’s for this year and senior year will I be fine, because my dad says I’m a disgrace to him because of this, in 9th and 10th grade I fucked up because I got bullied! I was wonder what my chances in attending rutgers please help!!! Rutgers nj or any college!
I don’t know about your chances at a four year college or university, but your life is far from over. You seem to be demonstrating an upward trend, something colleges like to see. You could also consider starting out at community college and possibly transferring after proving your academic abilities more.

Your senior year will be largely irrelevant because you’ll be applying in the fall before your senior grades will be known.
Your dad needs to be helpful in this situation.
You won’t likely get into a 4 year, so plan on starting at a CC, do well there, and then transfer.
Does your High School allow “grade repair”, where you can repeat any grade D or F for a better grade (possibly online/summer school)? I agree with what was said by the others regarding starting at a community college and working your way up to a 4-year institution. Millions of students do exactly that and one could argue that was one of the objectives of CCs when they were conceived eons ago. The good thing is you have come to the realization of the importance of getting good grades while still in high school, allowing you to start the process of getting good grades going forward.
FYI, your Dad’s comment might just be an attempt to “shock” you into doing the best you can in school. I wouldn’t take it at face value.
